Piece of Earth - Lapidary Jewelry
Rhodonite
A favorite of the girls with bright pink for the majority color. Some black speckels and brown swashes compliment quite nicely, and high shine make it really stand out. I did have almost 2 lbs of this rock but it sold really well so I am on the look for some more.
Brighton Beach Agate
As the name implies...this rock is from Brighton Beach England and was brought back to me by a traveling relative. Dark grey, snowy white with a brown outlined streak of yellow on the bottom right and a very high lustre.
Another Brighton Beach Agate
This one has a tan and brown exterior with the smokey grey interior. It was cut from bigger stone and was rally hard...near a 3 MOH. Because it is so hard it polished to a very high shine.
Fancy Jasper
Another nice rock from the Coqihalla River. The white stone out side is translucent while the interior brown and yellow jasper is not. This piece is very thin and quite comfortable to wear as it weighs around 6 grams.
BC Sandstone
Dark browny green with golden lines of sediment with a medium lustre make this a very "handsome" piece. In the bright sun the gold stands out and almost glows. This stone is from the Coquihall River that runs through Hope BC. Make sure you check out their page on the links site.
Bittumous Agate
Bright red, yellows and copper browns are very vivid and bright. The picture really does not do it justice but the sunshine faded for the day while I was taking the picture. I have 4 or 5 of thses alread cut and hung in differnt shapes so drop me an email if you want to see more and I will send a bright picture.
Pink and Brown Jasper
I can't remeber where I got this raw rock from but as I cut pieces from it I am amazed by the diversity of color that I find. This particular piece has lots of yellow, pink and brown variances. Very high lustre and a unique "teardrop" shape make it a one of a kind
Royal Jasper
A rough flat lustre outside and a deep red shiny interior combine in this unigue rock. Some people change to color of the interior stone to a bright red when they wear it. I combined it with gold hardware for a really stunning fininshed product.
Fraser River Agate
This orange Agate from the Fraser River just out side of Hope BC shows a fantastick chrystal interior. The center of the original stone had a really nice druzy section.
Mahagony Obsidian
This simple but elegant pendant is not tied. Instead a 3 mil hole is drilled all the way through to allow the cord to pass unrestricted. A lot of men prefere this setup although I do not know why.
This particular one was made for a very good friend.
